Cymo.

A flat mmWave sensor for the wall or bedside.

Cymo is a wellness and research device. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

In workplaces, Cymo can also stand on a desk, facing the person who works there.

Dark at rest

At rest

When no one is interacting with it, Cymo shows no light at all. There is no always-on LED, so it reads as a plain matte disc on the wall or bedside.

During interaction

A soft glow shows through the surface only while someone is interacting with Cymo. Afterwards it goes dark again, so it disappears in a dark bedroom.

No camera. No wearable.

Cymo uses mmWave radar, which measures motion rather than forming images. It has no camera and no microphone, and nobody in the room has to wear anything.

It is designed so raw radar data stays in the room. In a pilot, how data is handled, stored and shared is set out in the pilot agreement.

The sensing system

Off-the-shelf hardware gives you a sensor. Full-stack control lets us design a sensing system.

We build our own capture hardware, so every part of the signal chain is ours to tune.

We work from raw range-Doppler and range-azimuth streams, with synchronized multi-sensor capture, rather than the processed output of an off-the-shelf module.

Our models are pre-trained with self-supervision on unlabelled radar video, so they learn how people move before they learn any single task. The result is an end-to-end model that understands more than the raw signal, designed to act as a personalized assistant with a semantic understanding of the room.

Questions about Cymo

Is Cymo a medical device?
No. Cymo is a wellness and research device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Read the full disclaimer.
Does it record video or audio?
No. Cymo has no camera and no microphone. It uses mmWave radar, which measures motion rather than forming images or capturing sound.
What happens with more than one person in the room?
Real rooms have partners, visitors and staff, so we design and test for more than one person. In our published pose-estimation research, error rose only 6.5% with a bystander present.
Does anyone need to wear something?
No. Cymo is fully contactless. There is nothing to wear and nothing to remember.
How can organisations get Cymo?
Through a pilot partnership. Tell us about your setting and what you would like to learn, and we will shape a pilot with you. Request a pilot.
When can individuals buy Cymo?
Cymo is not on sale to individuals yet. Join the waitlist to hear when it is.

Pilots and the waitlist

Organisations can start with a pilot. Individuals can join the waitlist to hear when Cymo is available.
