Building contactless sensing from the physics up
Cymatics Intelligence, Inc. builds Cymo and the full-stack radar and learning platform behind it.
Why we build the whole stack
Off-the-shelf hardware gives you a sensor. Full-stack control lets us design a sensing system.
Off-the-shelf radar modules expose only a sparse point cloud, the manufacturer’s best guess at what mattered. That is not enough to build the kind of models we need, so we design our own capture hardware to keep the raw range-Doppler and range-azimuth streams intact, synchronize recordings across multiple sensors for ground truth, and pre-train self-supervised models directly on unlabelled radar video.
- hours of radar data
- 80+
- used to train our models
- 8×A100
- one model from raw radar to semantic understanding, the basis of a personal assistant that knows the room
- End-to-end
The lab
We publish our methods as technical reports rather than keeping them as trade secrets, and we hold ourselves to the same standards a lab would.
Our datasets are collected within UCL’s research framework, under the same ethical review as any academic study, and our reports go through the same rigour before we call a result done. When a paper or a technical report is ready, it goes on the research pages, with the methods and figures behind it.
